The large-scale rehabilitation of the Trakia Highway is entering its final phase, with repair activities covering multiple strategic sections in various regions of Bulgaria. Currently, specialized teams are working on updating the road infrastructure with exceptional intensity.
Specifically in the Sliven region, the complete renovation of a 10-kilometer section between kilometers 241 and 251 will be completed by June 30. The activities include full replacement of the asphalt pavement, comprehensive cleaning of drainage systems, and raising existing drainage grates.
Parallel to these activities, road experts are carrying out large-scale repair operations in other regions. In the Sofia region, 12 kilometers of the highway have already been renewed, and in the Pazardzhik region, two road lanes spanning 10 kilometers have been rehabilitated.
The management of the Road Infrastructure Agency informed that work is currently being done in several simultaneous directions. In the section between kilometers 120 and 125, patching activities are ongoing, with passage partially restricted in the active and emergency lanes.
Special organizational safety measures have been taken during construction activities. In both lanes, special lanes have been designated for different traffic - for passenger and cargo vehicles, with movement regulated under strictly defined conditions.
Experts from RIA appeal to drivers to exercise extreme caution during repair activities. They warn that during periods of intense traffic - the end of the work week and holidays - movement delays are possible.
Several information channels have been provided for maximum convenience of citizens and transport companies. Current information can be obtained from the official website www.api.bg or via the 24-hour phone number 0700 130 20.
The main goal of the large-scale repair is to ensure safe and comfortable travel for all participants in traffic on Bulgaria's busiest highway.
