Generative artificial intelligence (GenAI), including models like ChatGPT, represents a new, powerful category of technologies that can generate text, code, images, videos, and music. Despite the benefits, the use of these AI tools raises questions related to ethics and intellectual property. In order to interact confidently, critically, and safely with these new technologies, teachers and students need to have basic knowledge on how to use GenAI in education, without forgetting about copyrights.
In order to assist this process, the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) has published an interactive graphic, available in Bulgarian language as well. It provides guidance and information for teachers and students on the use of generative AI in education and the related consequences regarding copyright.
Additionally, the "IP in Education" learning materials, including the massive open online course (MOOC) on the basics of intellectual property, can be found on the IdeasPowered@School website. These resources allow teachers and students to delve deeper into the topic and develop the necessary skills for the safe and ethical use of new technologies in education.
