In Malmö, Sweden, a general meeting of the Association of European Chambers of Commerce and Industry (EUROCHAMBRES) was held, where the BCCI was represented by Dr. Vasil Todorov - Vice-President of the Chamber. During the meeting, an organizational and financial report on the activities of the organization was presented.
EUROCHAMBRES operates through a network of over 1700 national and regional chambers, in which over 20 million enterprises (of which over 93% are small and medium-sized) with over 120 million employees are members. The organization conducts economic studies of the business environment, the results of which it presents to EU bodies as an argument for the policies to be followed.
During the general assembly, another form of EUROCHAMBRES' activity was reported - the organization's activities on various projects in the field of international trade, the development of the single market, the enlargement of the EU and the development of good neighborly relations.
In 2025, the organization of the European Parliament of Enterprises is planned, which is established as a powerful generator of proposals and ideas for changes and improvements in the conditions for doing business in the EU. The forum is the largest event organized by EUROCHAMBRES, and this year it will be held on November 4 in Brussels, in the building of the European Parliament. The BCCI will provide additional information on the opportunities for Bulgarian companies to participate in this event.
Within the framework of the general assembly of EUROCHAMBRES, current news related to the activities of the BCCI over the past month were also discussed, including the presentation of the economic opportunities of the municipality of Kostenets, an Indian exhibition of goods at the NDK, the protection of intellectual property of foreign SMEs in India, the awarding of the National "ATLAS - Mentor of the Year 2025" Awards, the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between employers, trade unions and the government to counteract speculation when introducing the euro, as well as the presentation of industrial applications of developed elastomeric composites.
