Europe can take a leading role in supporting Ukraine as American aid is reduced.

The general responsible for coordinating German military aid to Ukraine states that the European NATO member countries are already providing around 60% of all Western military aid to Ukraine, surpassing the United States. He emphasizes that Europe has the financial resources to compensate for a potential cessation of direct American aid.

According to General Christian Frioudine, the European member countries of NATO, together with Canada, are able to sustainably support Ukraine in its war against Russia, even in the absence of direct support from the United States. Frioudine, responsible for coordinating German military aid to Ukraine, stated in an interview with Reuters agency that Europe is already providing approximately 60% of all Western military aid to Ukraine, surpassing the US in this indicator over the past year.

However, the general stressed that some specific military capabilities - especially in the field of air surveillance and air defense - still depend significantly on American equipment, which would be difficult to replace if Washington completely withdraws from providing assistance. Frioudine clarified that European countries have the financial resources to purchase American military equipment and provide it to Ukraine, thus compensating for the potential cessation of direct American aid.
