This year, the Municipality of Burgas invites students to participate in the summer educational initiative "Read me a fairy tale", which will take place from July 1 to August 15, 2025. The program is aimed at children in kindergartens and aims to introduce them to more Bulgarian texts to enrich their vocabulary. An interesting fact is that young children show greater interest in fairy tales read by their older brothers and sisters.
Every student from 7th to 11th grade can register to read fairy tales under the guidance of teachers from the respective kindergarten. Participants will have the opportunity to choose the kindergarten they wish to join, and at the end of the program, all volunteers will receive a voucher for books or textbooks from the Municipality of Burgas.
The works that will be read will be provided by the kindergartens and will be in line with the curriculum for the respective age group. In case there are no volunteers in a particular kindergarten, the fairy tales will be read by the teachers.
The goal of the initiative is to stimulate the children's interest in fairy tales, which not only entertain them but also convey valuable lessons. In this way, skills such as active listening, empathy, imagination, and emotional intelligence are developed.
Registration for the "Read me a fairy tale" program will be activated after June 24. The photos in the material are from last year's edition of the initiative.
