In connection with the upcoming holiday of Bulgarian education and culture - May 24, the Day of the Holy Brothers Cyril and Methodius, the Municipality of Burgas and the People's Community Center "Paisiy Hilendarski 1928" announce the third edition of a literary competition on the topic "Burgas - the Bay of Memories". The competition is aimed at people over 60 years of age, who through their works - poems or short stories, will have the opportunity to preserve for generations the exciting sea experiences from their past.
Participants must submit their works in electronic format to the specified email address or to the address of the community center by August 31, 2025. Each work should be accompanied by information about the author - full name, age, address, contact phone number, and whether they are a member of a pensioners' club (which is not a mandatory condition).
The submitted works will be evaluated by a jury, and the best ones will be published on the competition's Facebook page and on the website of the Municipality of Burgas. The purpose of the initiative is to give the elderly residents of the city the opportunity to share their memories and experiences related to the sea, and thus enrich the cultural memory of Burgas.
