The possibilities for expanding the space sector in our country were presented during a specialized information forum at Sofia Tech Park. Deputy Minister Prof. Georgi Angelov emphasized the strategic importance of international cooperation with leading European space institutions.
The expert panel examined the prospects for Bulgarian entrepreneurs and scientific organizations to participate in prestigious European space initiatives. A key focus was placed on the programs of the European Union Agency for the Space Programme (EUSPA) and the European Space Agency (ESA).
Prof. Angelov noted remarkable progress in the local space ecosystem. "In the last two to three years, there has been a tangible interest from new companies, which proves the maturity of the sector," he commented. The main goal is to attract more young entrepreneurs and specialists to innovative space technologies.
During the event, detailed opportunities were presented for several key programs. Experts explained the application conditions for the "Horizon Europe" initiative for 2025, as well as the prospects for the 2026-2027 period. Special attention was paid to EUSPA's "Fundamental Elements" program.
Additional information channels were presented through the European Commission's CASSINI innovation platforms and the European Innovation Council's tools. The forum concluded with a detailed presentation of ESA's Eleventh Tender Procedure for Bulgaria.
