Kremlin expands the "Russia - Not My Enemy" campaign in Europe
A Kremlin propaganda campaign called "Russia - Not My Enemy" is expanding in Europe, now reaching Romania, according to data from the Center for Countering Disinformation. This hybrid operation, which aims to undermine the unity of European societies, represents a new stage in Moscow's efforts to downplay its own aggression and spread messages of "peaceful cooperation".
Recently, stickers with the inscription "Russia - Not My Enemy" were spotted in several Romanian cities. They are part of a wider network of actions aimed at forming a false public narrative. Similar manifestations have already been registered in France and Italy, where they are mainly carried out through pro-Russian organizations.
Journalists from our team on the ground in Romania say the stickers appeared surprisingly and seemingly unnoticed, but quickly attracted the attention of local residents. They are found in various public places, and their appearance is causing mixed reactions among citizens, who are visibly surprised by the provocative inscription.
Experts define the campaign as a strategic move by the Kremlin to build an image of Russia as a "peacemaker". The goal is not only to cover up Moscow's war crimes but also to create internal discord in European countries, undermining trust in their own governments and institutions.
Analysts note that the long-term goal of these hybrid operations is to weaken public support for the rule of law and democratic institutions. The campaign aims to question the Euro-Atlantic orientation of countries and discredit the support they provide to Ukraine.
