Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced that a new round of negotiations between Ukraine and the Russian Federation (RF) on the full-scale war is upcoming. The meeting will take place in the near future, but the exact location has not yet been specified.
Lavrov stated that at the previous negotiations on May 16 in Istanbul, Russia insisted on the abolition of discriminatory laws on the Russian language in Ukraine, and will continue to insist on this at the next meeting.
The first negotiations between representatives of Ukraine and the RF in several years were held on May 16 in Turkey. The Ukrainian delegation was led by Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, and the Russian side was represented by the assistant to the Russian president - Vladimir Medinsky. During the dialogue, the parties discussed the issue of a large-scale exchange of prisoners of war in the format of "1000 for 1000", which was realized in three stages over the past weekend.
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, also arrived in Turkey with the aim of participating in direct negotiations with the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, but the Kremlin leader ignored the invitation for a personal meeting.
