The idea for the "Little Big Heroes" campaign was born following a meeting between Interior Minister Ivan Demerdzhiev and 16-year-old Stiliyan Trendafilov and 17-year-old Tonislav Lekov. The Ministry recalls that the two youths had already been honored by Ivan Demerdzhiev for their pivotal role in saving the village of Kosharitsa from a major fire.
Today, at 12:00 PM in the lobby of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Minister Ivan Demerdzhiev will officially launch the "Little Big Heroes" initiative, the Ministry's press center informs.
During the ceremony, children and teenagers who have proven themselves through valiant conduct and the fulfillment of their civic duty will be honored. Among those being awarded are youths who helped apprehend a fake police officer, as well as children who participated in overcoming the aftermath of the flood in the village of Strumyani, including a volunteer who is only 7 years old.
By organizing this campaign, the Ministry of Internal Affairs aims to highlight positive role models, contrasting them with acts of violence and hooliganism in society.
