Democratic Bulgaria (DB) wants an emergency session of parliament on Thursday, 22 October. It wants prime minister Rumen Radev, interior minister Ivan Demerdzhiev and Plamen Tonchev, head of the State Agency for National Security (DANS), to appear before MPs, the coalition's press office said.

The move follows reports that the accused in the deliberate arson attack on Starlink satellite antennas near the village of Plana have left Bulgaria.

DB wants to know what the institutions did in the case, and how they identified and searched for the accused. The coalition will collect signatures for the session tomorrow.

Parliament already heard the institutions on the case on 14 October. DB says Radev urged the DANS chief at that time not to give details, so as not to hamper the investigation. The prime minister also assured MPs that the situation was under control.

"This requires an immediate account to parliament of the timeline of events, possible failures and who is responsible for them," DB said in its statement.

MPs will also meet tomorrow for another emergency session. Asen Vasilev of We Continue the Change and a group of MPs asked for it. It will deal with the case of Ognyan Atanasov, known as the "Petrich Escobar".
