Key meeting in Brussels
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Bulgarian Prime Minister Rumen Radev held constructive talks on the sidelines of the EU summit in Brussels. The main focus of the dialogue was the deepening of bilateral cooperation in strategic sectors.
Focus on technology and security
The Ukrainian head of state proposed that Bulgaria begin work on a special cooperation agreement in the field of unmanned aerial vehicles. The potential for industrial partnership and technology transfer in drone production was among the leading topics highlighted by both sides.
"We discussed in detail the development of our cooperation and energy security, including at the regional level," Zelenskyy shared on social media.
Energy and European integration
During the meeting, Bulgaria's key role in regional energy stability, including natural gas and electricity supplies, was also discussed. For his part, Prime Minister Radev reaffirmed Bulgaria's position regarding Ukraine's European integration:
- Bulgaria will not hinder the start of negotiations for Ukraine's EU membership.
- Both sides will prepare joint projects and bilateral agreements through their teams.
- Further consultations are forthcoming to specify industrial partnerships.
