Two men, aged 36 and 42, have been detained by the Burgas police in connection with a large fire near Burgas.

The incident occurred in the Ayazmoto area, near the "Saint Mary" monastery, engulfing approximately 150 decares of pastures and grasslands. This was reported by the Burgas Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior.

The fire was reported shortly after 13:00 yesterday. According to initial reports, immediately before the incident, a witness saw the two men working in the area. They were performing agricultural work, mowing grass with a tractor.

The investigation suggests that the fire originated due to negligence while operating the machinery. Several teams from the Regional Directorate "Fire Safety and Civil Protection" – Burgas, were involved in extinguishing the fire. The scene was filled with smoke and flames as firefighters battled the spreading fire.

The two men, residents of Burgas, were identified and detained by officers from the Fourth District Police Station – Burgas. A pre-trial proceeding has been initiated, which will clarify all the circumstances surrounding the case and determine the degree of guilt of the detainees.

The case recalls another serious fire that broke out in August near the villa zone of Bulyarovo. Then, the fire engulfed about 20 buildings, and a man was also detained in connection with that incident. The scale of these fires highlights the need for increased vigilance and adherence to safety regulations when working with machinery, especially during the dry summer months. The investigation is crucial not only for establishing responsibility for the specific incidents but also for preventing similar disasters in the future.
