State of emergency in Bolyarovo: Huge fire consumes 1,500 decares of forest

A state of emergency has been declared in the municipality of Bolyarovo due to a large-scale fire near the villages of Denitsa and Kamen Vrah. Firefighting crews, a military helicopter, and heavy equipment are currently on site.

State of emergency and large-scale fire in the Bolyarovo area

A critical situation has arisen in the area of Bolyarovo, where a state of emergency has been officially declared due to a large fire between the villages of Denitsa and Kamen Vrah. The fire, which started from dry grass and bushes, spread rapidly due to strong winds and engulfed a deciduous forest. According to the authorities, the affected area has already reached approximately 150 hectares.

At the moment, there is no immediate danger to the population, assured Regional Governor Georgi Chalakov.

Due to heavy smoke, the BG-ALERT system has been activated, warning citizens of the danger. Traffic on the Leyarovo – Stefan Karadzhovo road remains temporarily restricted for safety reasons and to ensure a corridor for specialized equipment.
