The thirtieth anniversary handball tournament "Dimitar Gurbalov" marked its anniversary with fierce competitions, gathering six teams of boys under 14 years old. The event, which has become a tradition, once again brought together young talents, demonstrating their skills and passion for the game. The atmosphere was electrifying, filled with the energy of the young athletes and the support of their coaches and fans.
The competition began with preliminary groups, where the teams fought for a place in the next round. The winners in these groups were the handball club "Trud" Trud and the handball club "Lokomotiv" Varna. The matches were full of twists and tension, which kept the audience in suspense until the last minute.
The second places in the groups were taken by HC "Dobrudzha" and HC "Lokomotiv" Gorna Oryahovitsa. The third places went to the hosts from HC "Fregata" Burgas and HC "Asti-91" Haskovo.
After the group stage, it was time to distribute the prizes. In the match for 5-6 place, the team of HC "Asti-91" Haskovo defeated HC "Fregata" Burgas with a score of 18:16. The match was contested, with both teams demonstrating admirable will to win.
The bronze medals of the tournament were won by the team of HC "Lokomotiv" Gorna Oryahovitsa, defeating HC "Dobrudzha" with 21:5. Despite the visible fatigue, the young players showed incredible endurance and a desire to win.
In the culmination of the tournament, the match for the gold medals, the handball club "Lokomotiv" Varna achieved a convincing victory over the team of the handball club "Trud" Trud with 21:13. The atmosphere in the hall reached its peak, the chants of the fans echoed, supporting their favorites.
In addition to the team achievements, individual awards were also presented. They were determined after a survey among the coaches. Nikolai Radoslavov from HC "Lokomotiv" Gorna Oryahovitsa was determined to be the best goalkeeper. Simeon Vasilev from the handball club "Lokomotiv" Varna received the award for best defender. The most useful player was Kristiyan Andreev from the handball club "Lokomotiv" Varna. The top scorer of the tournament with 19 accurate goals is Stefan Asenov from "Fregata" Burgas.
