Recognition for long-standing contribution to Nesebar
At its session today, the Municipal Council in Nesebar voted to confer the title of "Honorary Citizen" upon Yani Nikolov. The decision was prompted by his enormous contribution to the development of the tourism sector in the region, with the nomination coinciding with his upcoming 80th birthday.
"His work has left a lasting mark on the image of Sunny Beach, Elenite, and the entire municipality," noted those who submitted the proposal.
Key achievements of Yani Nikolov
The professional career of Yani Nikolov is marked by large-scale projects that transformed the region into a modern tourist destination. Among his most significant contributions are:
- General Director of "Sunny Beach" and creator of the "Elenite" and "Mesembria" AD holiday villages.
- Infrastructure development: construction of wastewater treatment plants in Elenite, Sveti Vlas, Sunny Beach, and Ravda.
- Education and employment: active support for the "Ivan Vazov" High School of Tourism and the provision of thousands of jobs.
- Social activities: construction of housing for workers, development of administrative buildings, and organization of cultural events such as the "Golden Orpheus" festival.
A long path of dedication
In addition to being a successful manager, Nikolov has also served as a municipal councilor, actively participating in local government. He is the recipient of numerous prestigious awards, including the Order of the "Red Banner of Labor" and the Jubilee Plaque of the Municipality of Nesebar, which serve as proof of his tireless work over the decades.
