A second cyclone is approaching, which is expected to bring significant amounts of rainfall – again with triple-digit values, if the forecasts hold. According to information reported by meteorologists from Meteo Bulgaria, quoted by the FOCUS agency, there is a greater probability of intense rainfall mainly in Central and Eastern Bulgaria in the period October 7-8.
Experts warn that the forecasts are still not final, as the trajectory of the cyclone may undergo changes. Nevertheless, it is important for citizens to be prepared for the upcoming conditions. The Meteo Bulgaria team will continue to monitor the situation and provide up-to-date information. Meteorologists express concerns that it is possible that we will again be unprepared and surprised. Taking into account the already waterlogged soil after the intense rainfall of the last 48 hours, as well as the lack of action on the part of the state, the problems seem inevitable. We hope that they will not be catastrophic and will not lead to casualties, Meteo Bulgaria points out.
Specialists emphasize that only within the first decade of October, more rainfall is expected to fall in many places than has been recorded throughout the summer, and even throughout all nine months to date. Until recently, there were meteorological stations in the country, recording an annual rainfall (from January to September) of only 200 and a little over 200 liters per square meter. According to meteorologists, this painfully dry year will receive solid compensation from the beginning of October.
