Most of Bulgaria will enjoy unusually warm weather for the season today.
Expected maximum temperatures will range between 26° and 31° Celsius, with Sofia expected to reach around 28°.
According to information from BNT, there will be a light to moderate wind from the east-northeast.
Sunny weather will prevail for most of the day, although before noon in the lowlands and Eastern Bulgaria, including the Black Sea coast, visibility may be reduced.
The wind, although light, will bring some changes.
However, cooling is expected along the coast. Maximum temperatures will range between 22° and 24° Celsius. The wind will be stronger, and the sea state will be 2-3 points. A slight but noticeable drop in temperatures is expected compared to inland areas.
It will also be sunny in the mountains, but the cloud cover may increase in the afternoon. The wind will be light to moderate, from the east-northeast, similar to the lowlands.
Tourists planning mountain hikes should be prepared for a change in weather during the day.
However, the weather will change drastically on Thursday. A strong northeasterly wind will bring a sharp drop in temperatures.
A cold air front will cover the country, marking a significant reversal of the current warm weather.
The cloud cover will increase, and rain is expected in Western Bulgaria and the southeastern regions.
The cold weather will continue on Friday and Saturday, with moderate to strong winds and a further drop in temperatures. There will be precipitation on both days, more intense on Friday.
Sunday will also be rainy, with precipitation more significant and intense in places in the western half of the country.
This significant discrepancy between the expected sunny and warm days and the upcoming cooling is important for planning any outdoor activities.
