For July 1st, NIMH forecasts typical summer weather – sunny and hot, with daytime temperatures around 28–34°C, a slight chance of rain, and good conditions for swimming along the Black Sea coast with warm sea water.

On July 1st, Bulgaria welcomes the first morning of July with typical summer weather – mostly sunny, hot, and with almost no rain, according to data from the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology. In the lowlands and along the Black Sea coast, daytime temperatures will be around 28–34°C, the wind will be mostly light to moderate, and conditions for the beach and swimming along the coast are favorable.

Burgas and Burgas Region

In "Burgas," the day will be sunny, with few clouds in the afternoon and a typical summer feel. The maximum air temperature will be around 29–30°C, and the morning minimum – around 19–20°C. The probability of rain is very low – around 0–10%, with no thunderstorms expected during the day.

Sea water in the Burgas Bay will be pleasantly warm – around 24°C, according to historical data for the beginning of July (24–25°C in previous years), which is suitable for extended swimming. The wind in the area will be mostly moderate, with speeds around 8–10 m/s, mainly from eastern and southeastern directions – it feels like a fresh sea breeze by the shore.

Preliminary assessment of swimming safety at the central beach and neighboring beaches in Burgas: green flag – conditions are good for swimming, while observing the instructions of lifeguards and paying attention to the high UV index around noon.

Sofia and Sofia Region

In "Sofia" and the surrounding area on July 1st, the weather will be mostly sunny, with scattered clouds in the afternoon. Maximum temperatures in the capital will be around 27–29°C, and minimums – around 17–19°C. The probability of rain remains low – up to 10–15%, with a small chance of short local showers on the mountain slopes in the late afternoon.

The wind in the Sofia Plain will be light to moderate, mostly from eastern and northeastern directions, with speeds of 3–5 m/s. Conditions are good for walks and outdoor activities, with increased attention to the strong sun between 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM.

Western and Eastern Bulgaria

In "Western Bulgaria" (Pleven, Vidin, Montana, Blagoevgrad), sunny to mostly sunny weather is expected, with daytime temperatures between 28 and 32°C. The probability of rain is low – around 10–20%, with short afternoon showers possible mainly around mountain massifs.

In "Eastern Bulgaria" (Plovdiv, Stara Zagora, Sliven, Shumen, Varna), daytime temperatures will be around 29–33°C, with more sunny hours and a low probability of rain – around 10%. The wind in the plains will be light to moderate – 3–7 m/s, with a slight increase in open fields.

Safety assessment for swimming in inland water bodies (rivers and dams): yellow flag – swimming is permitted only in guarded areas and in compliance with local rules, as these water bodies are not under constant supervision.

The Mountains

In mountain regions on July 1st, the weather will be sunny, with typical cumulus clouds in the afternoon. In the high parts of "Rila," "Pirin," and the "Stara Planina" (Balkan Mountains), maximum temperatures will be around 20–23°C at 1200 m and around 17–18°C at 2000 m, according to the NIMH forecast.

The probability of short rain showers with thunder in the afternoon is moderate – around 20–30%, mainly along ridges and peaks. The wind in high parts will be moderate to strong, eastern, with speeds of 8–12 m/s. Conditions for swimming in mountain lakes are not recommended – the water is cold, the areas are unguarded, and access is often difficult. Recommended assessment: red flag – swimming is not recommended.

Black Sea Coast

Along the "Black Sea coast" – from Durankulak to Rezovo – July 1st will be a typical summer day, with plenty of sun and high temperatures. Maximum temperatures along the shore will be around 28–31°C, with 28–30°C expected along the northern coast (Varna, Golden Sands, Balchik), and 29–31°C along the southern coast (Sunny Beach, Sozopol, Burgas, Ahtopol).

The probability of rain along the coast is very low – up to 5–10%, with no expectation of significant thunderstorms. Sea water along the coast will be comfortable for swimming, with an average temperature of around 23–24°C in the first days of July, according to historical data.

The wind along the coast will be light to moderate – 4–8 m/s, mostly from eastern and southeastern directions, with slight sea waves. On guarded beaches, conditions for swimming are evaluated as good – green flag in most of the coastline, while following the instructions of lifeguards and protection from the strong UV index (level 8 – very high).

In summary, July 1st will offer stable summer weather throughout the country – sunny, warm, and suitable for the beach, walks, and outdoor activities. The most important thing for people remains to protect themselves from the sun during midday hours, to monitor local forecasts, and to follow the rules for safe swimming.
