Today's weather in the country will be marked by mostly cloudy conditions, accompanied by rainfall. Significant amounts of rain are expected in some regions of Southwestern Bulgaria.
Minimum temperatures will vary widely. In most of the country, the mercury will show values between 5° and 10°. In the southeastern regions, temperatures will be higher, reaching around 13°-15°. In the capital Sofia, the thermometers will read around 7°.
During the day, the rainfall is expected to temporarily stop and the cloud cover to decrease. In the valleys and lowlands, the wind will temporarily calm down. Before noon, fog or low stratus clouds will be observed there. In Southern and Eastern Bulgaria, a moderate, and in the southeastern regions and north of the mountains - strong southern wind will continue to blow.
Maximum temperatures during the day will be mostly between 10° and 15°. In Southern Bulgaria and the areas sensitive to the southern wind, values around 20°-22° are expected. In Sofia, the maximum temperature will reach around 18°.
Along the Black Sea coast, the weather today will be mostly cloudy, with light rainfall mainly during the morning hours. A moderate to strong southwesterly wind will blow. Maximum temperatures will be from 15°-16° along the Northern Black Sea coast to 21-22° in the south. The temperature of the sea water will be 15°-16°. The sea swell will be 3-4 on the Beaufort scale.
In the mountains, it will be cloudy with rain. More significant amounts of precipitation are expected in the massifs in Southwestern Bulgaria and in the central and eastern regions of the Stara Planina mountain. Above 2000-2200 meters, the rain will turn into snow. A strong, and on the high peaks and exposed parts - a stormy southwesterly wind will continue to blow. The maximum temperature at an altitude of 1200 meters will be around 12°, and at 2000 meters - around 6°.
