Military assistance for the fire near the village of Slavovitsa
An AS 532 AL "Cougar" helicopter from the 24th Air Base actively joined the efforts to extinguish a forest fire in the lands of the village of Slavovitsa, Septemvri municipality. The alarm was raised due to the fire's proximity to the 69th kilometer of the "Trakia" motorway.
The crew's participation follows a request from the General Directorate "Fire Safety and Population Protection" at the Ministry of Interior.
Operation details:
- The helicopter took off at 15:28 to assist the ground teams.
- The fire affected dry grass and vineyards near the turnoff for Velingrad.
- Volunteer units from Belovo, Bratsigovo, Panagyurishte, and Strelcha are participating in the firefighting efforts.
Important for drivers: Traffic on the motorway in the area is restricted, as is access through the "Tserovo" road junction.
