Burgas is the city of three lakes and the Black Sea, but does it have enough water resources for today and for the future? Where does the water come from, where is it stored, and how are the climate changes affecting it?
The answers will be given by Zhivka Yanakieva, who will give a lecture with a presentation on the topic "Water Resources of the Burgas Region" on March 23 at 2:00 PM at the Natural Science Exhibition of RIM - Burgas.
The event is organized on the occasion of World Water Day. It has been celebrated annually on March 22 since 1993, at the initiative of the United Nations.
The initiative aims to raise awareness regarding the importance of fresh water and the sustainable management of water resources.
It is everywhere around us - in rivers, seas, soil, and in all living organisms. But while it pours freely from the sky and seemingly flows endlessly in rivers and other water basins, we must know: Water is a limited natural resource.
