The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH) has issued warnings for unfavorable weather in Bulgaria. A yellow code for icy conditions has been declared for the regions of Kardzhali, Haskovo, Ruse, and Razgrad. In Smolyan, a yellow code for snowfall has been declared.
During today, snowfall is expected in Northwestern and Central Bulgaria before noon, which will gradually stop. In Southern and Eastern Bulgaria, there will be rainfall, but it will also stop in the evening. In the morning, there were icy conditions in places in Ludogorie and the Eastern Rhodopes.
A light to moderate wind will blow from the south-southeast, which will shift from the southwest in the afternoon. Maximum temperatures will be mainly between 1 and 6 degrees Celsius, a little higher in the southwestern regions of the country, and in Sofia - around 6 degrees Celsius.
In the mountains, it will be mostly cloudy, windy, and with snowfall, with significant precipitation expected in the Rila-Rhodope region and in the Central Balkan region. Around noon, the snowfall will weaken and stop. A moderate to strong southwest wind will blow. The maximum temperature at an altitude of 1200 meters will be around 5 degrees Celsius, at 2000 meters - around minus 2 degrees Celsius.
Over the Black Sea coast, it will be cloudy and rainy. More significant rainfall is expected along the southern coast. A moderate wind will blow from the south-southwest. Maximum temperatures will be between 7 and 9 degrees Celsius, close to the sea water temperature. The sea swell will be 2-3 points.
