Navy Inspects and Transports Drone Remains Near Kara Dere and Ahtopol

Specialized teams from the naval bases in Varna and Burgas inspected and transported the remains of unmanned aerial vehicles, found near Kara Dere and in the Ahtopol area. The debris poses no danger.

Specialized teams from the Navy (VMS) carried out tasks to survey and transport remnants of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), discovered near Kara Dere and in the area of Ahtopol, the Ministry of Defense (MoD) announced.

During a survey in the area of Kara Dere, between Byala and Goritsa, the object was identified as a UAV remnant, which does not contain explosive substances and does not pose a danger. The team from the Naval Base (VMB) – Varna transported it.

In Ahtopol, at the southern end of the bay, a team from VMB – Burgas discovered a drone fragment. It was established that it also does not pose a danger and was transported to VMB – Burgas.

The military personnel acted at the request of the regional administrations, after a positive resolution from the Chief of Defense. The specialized groups for reconnaissance, marking, extraction, and transportation of unexploded ordnance were activated by order of the commander of the Navy.

On April 23, teams from VMB - Burgas discovered an engine of an air defense missile and a drone, which do not pose a danger and were transported to the base.
