With much emotion and good mood in Nessebar, Babinden was celebrated – a holiday with deep roots, preserved to this day. It is dedicated to the "babies" – the women who help with childbirth, and to the young brides and daughters-in-law who have had children.

The holiday started from the building of Nessebar Municipality, where the "babies" were greeted by the mayor Nikolay Dimitrov, the deputy mayor Viktor Borisov and the municipal councilor Sotir Naumov. The mayor thanked the representatives of the Community Center "Yana Laskova - 1905" and the Thracian Club - Nessebar, who for years have strictly and with great enthusiasm performed folk customs. "I am extremely pleased that in Nessebar the traditions are observed, which connect us with ancestral memory and culture, because they are the living link with the past, with our history and identity, preserving the soul of the people and creating a sense of belonging and continuity."

A little later, at "Zhulietta Shishmanova" square, a festive program took place with the participation of amateurs from the Community Center "Yana Laskova - 1905", the Thracian Club - Nessebar and children from ODK-Nessebar and OOSHI-Nessebar. The custom "Babuvane" was recreated, and thematic folk songs and dances were performed, which caused a lot of mood and smiles among those present in the square.

Babinden is one of the big women's holidays, which the folk calendar celebrates with great respect. Its successor is the Day of Maternal Assistance, with which we honor those whose work is related to the emergence of new life.
