Tomorrow, December 4th, around 10 a.m., traffic will be restored on the renovated lane to Burgas in the section of the “Trakia” motorway in the Sliven region. The updated route is 11 km long and is between the 262nd and 273rd km.
During the implementation of the project, a complete replacement of the asphalt surface, drainage activities, updated signs and restriction systems were carried out, markings were laid, etc.
In a 300-meter section at the 262nd km, repair works on a railway overpass joint will continue after the traffic is launched in the section. Vehicles will pass in the lane to Sofia, in which there will be one lane for traffic in each direction. The estimated completion date for the works on the facility is the end of 2025.
With the launch of traffic on the section in the Sliven region, the planned preventive repairs of the “Trakia” motorway in 2025 are completed. We remind you that in the spring and autumn, sections of the “Trakia” motorway in the Sofia, Pazardzhik, Plovdiv, Stara Zagora and Sliven regions were repaired, where preventive actions had to be taken to ensure traffic safety on the busiest route of the national road network. Over 80 km in the five regions have been repaired in the lane to Burgas, and sections with a length of 29 km in the Pazardzhik and Plovdiv regions have been repaired in the lane to Sofia.
In the Sofia region, 12 km were repaired in the lane to Burgas in May and June - between the 11th and 23rd km, and in the period September - October, work continued in the next 9 km - between the 24th and 33rd km.
In the Pazardzhik region, both traffic lanes between the 98th and 106th km were renovated in May - June, and both lanes in the section from the 90th to the 98th km were repaired in the autumn.
In the Plovdiv region, both lanes between the 106th and 119th km were repaired in June.
In the Stara Zagora region, 10 km in the lane to Burgas between the 208th and 218th km were repaired in October.
In the Sliven region, 10 km in the lane to Burgas between the 241st and 251st km were repaired in May and June, and now the activities in the same lane in the section between the 262nd and 273rd km are being completed.
The repair activities in all sections were carried out under the contract for current repair and maintenance of the “Trakia” motorway by “Avtomagistrali” EAD.
The Road Infrastructure Agency appeals to drivers to drive carefully, strictly observe road signs, the introduced organization and speed limits, not to undertake risky overtaking that endanger the safety of all other travelers.
