In the first two months of 2026, the validity of over 682,000 annual vignettes for cars expires. Of these, about 311,000 expire in January, and over 371,000 in February, the Road Infrastructure Agency (API) announced.

Each driver can check the validity of the vignette on the car they are driving on the website www.bgtoll.bg from the "Check vignette" button. After entering the registration number of the car and the country in which it is registered, the expiry date of the vignette can be determined, regardless of where it was purchased - from the offices of the Road Infrastructure Agency or in the commercial network of API partners. The status can be "active", "expired" or "unused" in cases where the vignette was purchased with a delayed start up to 30 days from the start date of validity.

By December 21, over 6.7 million vignettes have been sold, and the revenue from them is over BGN 312 million. Traditionally, annual and weekly vignettes are the most preferred by drivers. Of all sold, the annual ones are 2,573,621 pcs., the weekly ones - 2,565,161 pcs., followed by the monthly ones - 827,424 pcs., weekend vignettes - 691,385 pcs., and the quarterly ones - 107,522 pcs.

From January 1, 2026, the prices of vignettes will not change, but they will be written in euros and leva. The recalculation will be done automatically at the official fixed rate and will not require additional actions from users. When paying in cash in January 2026, it will be possible to pay in both leva and euros, according to the rules for the introduction of the single currency. Payments electronically will be made in euros.

The prices of vignettes in 2026 are as follows: annual - 49.60 euros (BGN 97), quarterly - 27.61 euros (BGN 54), monthly - 15.34 euros (BGN 30), weekly - 7.67 euros (BGN 15), weekend - 5.11 euros (BGN 10), one-day - 4.09 euros (BGN 8) and is valid from February 3, 2026. The one-day vignette will be valid for cars up to 3.5 tons and will allow the use of the republican road network for a period of 24 hours.

The Minister of Regional Development and Public Works in resignation Ivan Ivanov announced to journalists at the end of last year that as of December 19, a record collection of revenues from road tolls of over BGN 1 billion is recorded - a goal that was set at the beginning of the creation of the toll system. This year (2025 - note. rep.) the measures taken and all other improvements that were made within the framework of the National Toll Management, led to this result, the minister pointed out. All this became possible after a number of organizational, political, technological actions, undertaken by all representatives of the executive branch, the management of the National Toll Management, as well as with the legislative changes that were made by the National Assembly, Ivan Ivanov pointed out then.
