Changes to the Recovery and Resilience Plan
Caretaker Deputy Prime Minister for European Funds Maria Nedina announced a successful renegotiation with the European Commission regarding the deadlines for implementing key reforms under the Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP).
"With the agreed amendments, we managed to save 401 million euros and provide a longer time horizon for implementation for the future regular government," Nedina pointed out.
What are the new deadlines?
- Anti-Corruption Commission: The reform is moved from the second and third payments to the fourth and fifth.
- Investigation of the Prosecutor General: The deadline for implementation is moved from the third payment to the fifth, with the final deadline now being August 31.
Prime Minister Andrey Gyurov confirmed that the EC has already given an official positive opinion on the changes, which prevents a potential loss of funds whose deadline for implementation was expiring today, May 4.
