Varna – a hub for European health and spa tourism
Varna welcomes the elite of the European health industry at the HEALTHXCHANGE 2026 forum. The event aims to position Bulgaria as a leading destination for sustainable health and spa tourism. The organizers are the European Spa Association (ESPA) and the Bulgarian Union of Balneology and Spa Tourism (BUBSPA).
The forum brings together over 200 delegates from 20 countries, including EC representatives, scientists, and investors, to discuss the future of medical tourism and longevity concepts.
Key highlights of the program:
- Scientific evidence: Presentation of the latest research in balneology and the economic impact of spa destinations.
- Thalassotherapy: A specialized working group will discuss the sustainable development of thalassotherapy in Europe.
- Innovation Awards: Official ceremony for the ESPA awards for visionaries in the sector.
- Bulgarian heritage: Celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Bulgarian Union of Balneology and Spa Tourism.
Specially for the event, BTA presented the catalog "BG SPA - Health through water", containing information on over 128 certified centers in the country.
