This year, Ukraine marks more than three and a half years of full-scale war, as its people defend their freedom and sovereignty with unprecedented heroism and sacrifice. The conflict, unleashed by Russian aggression, continues to demand immense efforts from the Ukrainian forces and the civilian population, while also demonstrating remarkable resilience.
Growth of the Defense Industry
Against the backdrop of ongoing military operations, the Ukrainian military-industrial complex has seen impressive growth. The country's arms production has increased threefold, and in some strategic areas, this growth has reached dozens of times. More than 500 defense industry enterprises are operating at full capacity to provide the necessary equipment for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This mobilization of national resources underscores Kyiv's determination to wage a long-term resistance against the invasion.
The recent presentation of the new Ukrainian missile "Flamingo" is a clear sign of the country's ambitions to expand its defense capabilities. With a range of up to 3000 km, this missile will allow Ukrainian forces to strike targets located deep within Russian territory, representing a significant operational advance. The development of such systems shows that Ukraine is not only content with defending its borders but is also seeking ways to respond to the aggression by putting key military and logistical targets of the enemy at risk.
To ensure the full power of already existing systems such as "Sapsan", "Palyanytsia", "Neptune", and others, the Ukrainian government plans a massive expansion of production. In this process, international support will be of key importance, which is seen as a vital factor for Ukraine's success. An example of such support is the joint SAFE program, which provides for the allocation of up to 150 million euros for the development of the European Union's defense industry. This program also includes direct investments in Ukraine, which will allow it to accelerate the modernization and expansion of its production capacities.
- More than one million Russian servicemen have already been put out of action, which is an indicator of the enormous cost of the Kremlin's military adventure.
- Despite the massive invasion and constant pressure, Russia failed to achieve its main goal—to subjugate Ukraine, which continues to fight for its independence and the right to self-determination.
Thanks to the incomparable resilience of the Ukrainian people and army, as well as the determined support from international allies, Russia has faced serious losses that have undermined its initial plans for a quick victory.
