Three priorities for the reconstruction of Ukraine
During the International Conference in Gdansk, caretaker Prime Minister Rumen Radev outlined three key areas in which Bulgaria can cooperate with Ukraine:
- Energy diversification
- Connectivity in the Black Sea region
- Cooperation in the field of security
"This war of attrition, destruction, and devastation must end," the Prime Minister stated, calling for a peaceful solution through diplomacy and adherence to the UN Charter.
The Bulgarian community as a bridge for cooperation
Radev emphasized the fact that Bulgaria has a huge interest in the reconstruction of the country, given the large Bulgarian diaspora in Ukraine, numbering over 250,000 people. According to him, this is not just an economic endeavor, but a factor for the stability and competitiveness of all of Europe.
Institutional reforms and investments
The Prime Minister highlighted Ukraine's ambition for EU membership as a driver for modernization. It is expected that during the forum, over 160 agreements worth 10 billion euros will be signed, which is a significant step towards creating a predictable economic environment for future investments.
