Tragedy in Kyiv: The largest attack since the beginning of the war
The Ukrainian capital experienced one of its darkest nights. Russia carried out a massive missile attack, which led to immense destruction, casualties, and injuries. Mayor Vitali Klitschko confirmed that there is no district in the city that has not been affected.
"It was terrifying. We are alive only thanks to God. We managed to save ourselves in the garage, but there are still people under the rubble," shares Nadia, a resident of the city.
Reactions and international aid
EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs Kaja Kallas called for immediate new sanctions against Moscow. According to her, peace cannot be achieved by merely condemning the strikes – constant military support for Kyiv is necessary.
- President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on the US to send Patriot systems.
- Moscow justified the attack as "retribution" for strikes against the Russian energy system.
- Rescue operations in Kyiv continue around the clock in search of survivors.
The situation remains critical, and warnings of new attacks keep citizens in a state of constant mobilization.
