An accident involving a tanker transporting sulfuric acid caused a large-scale exercise near Varna, organized by representatives of various institutions. The scenario envisioned the heavy machine suffering a self-accident, which led to a spill of the dangerous chemical substance. The tanker carrying the acid was breached in the incident, and the substance spilled onto the roadway. The driver, according to the scenario, was injured and trapped in the truck's cabin.

Specialized vehicles arrived at the scene of the supposed accident. The experts involved in the exercise began by assessing the situation, after which they proceeded to contain the spill. Observers saw how the driver was extracted from the crushed cabin and received emergency medical assistance. Teams in protective clothing took action to seal the tanker, as the scenario predicted the formation of a breach from which acid was leaking. This was followed by the application of a substance designed to neutralize the spilled chemical substance.

The exercise mobilized the main services of the Unified Rescue System. On the ground were employees of the Regional Directorate "Fire Safety and Population Protection" (RDPSPC), the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior, the Emergency Medical Assistance Center and the Bulgarian Red Cross. Volunteers from the formations of the municipalities of Devnya and Beloslav also provided assistance. In the headquarters, where the actions were coordinated, representatives of various institutions participated, as well as the deputy regional governor of Varna, Ayrie Ibryamova.
