The fourth-grade students of the Private Primary School “Frene” organized a charity bazaar, through which they raised funds to support the Burgas Animal Shelter for Stray Animals. The initiative showed that the children have big hearts and a strong sense of responsibility towards animals in need. The students also had an extremely emotional meeting with little, loving Maya – a wonderful dog who truly enjoyed the children's attention. Maya adores the company of youngsters, is always ready for games and walks, and continues to look for her person who will give her a home and love. The funds raised from the charity bazaar were officially handed over to the extremely experienced and big-hearted manager of the Burgas Animal Shelter for Stray Animals, Denka Topalova, in the presence of the Deputy Mayor for "Strategic Development and Ecology, Digitalization and Climate Change Adaptation, Deputy Mayor for the Environment" Vesna Baltina. The guests had also prepared small gifts for the students as a sign of gratitude. For their humane attitude and active civic position, the fourth graders received a certificate and special congratulations from the Mayor of Burgas, Dimitar Nikolov, which were received by the school principal, Nikoleta Petrova. The donated funds will be used for urgent veterinary interventions and care for dogs in need at the shelter. The initiative is another example of how, with kindness, empathy, and joint efforts, destinies can be changed – both for animals and for people. Deputy Mayor Baltina supported the current charity bazaar of the school, with the funds from which a table tennis table will be purchased.
