The body of Kiril Pologov, director of the National Revenue Agency (NRA) in Burgas, was found dead in the area of the village of Bata, near Pomorie, reports the publication "Flagman". According to the information, the man was found with a gunshot wound to the head. His legally owned pistol was also found next to him. There is no evidence of violence.
A missing person report was filed by his wife yesterday afternoon. She reported the absence of his weapon from the home safe.
Preliminary information indicates that the 62-year-old official suffered from a malignant disease, diagnosed at a late stage, which made him practically incurable.
Pologov's colleagues share that he had been on sick leave for three months.
Kiril Pologov, whose career in the tax system spanned 33 years, took the post, responsible for revenues in the Burgas, Sliven and Yambol regions in 2024.
