Journalist and public figure Stefan Kurdov has passed away, NOVA was informed by the Varna hospital "St. Marina", where the former "Gospodari na efira" reporter had been admitted for treatment.
In the seaside capital, Kurdov was known not only for his work in the media but also as an active animal rights advocate and initiator of protests in their support. He created the "Zoopatruli" platform, whose cause is for institutions to exercise stricter control and react more quickly to reports of violence against domestic and stray animals.

Stefan Kurdov also managed the Coordination Center for Countering Violence Against Animals. The center works in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior and Varna Municipality.
In recent months, dozens of buses in the city were plastered with stickers calling for more humane treatment of animals. The campaign was part of efforts to increase public awareness regarding the problems of violence against domestic and stray animals.
Kurdov was a freelance journalist for years, and his professional path also included work as a radio host, screenwriter, and actor. He was a former reporter for the show "Gospodari na efira", from where he covered important events from Varna.
In his public work, Stefan Kurdov insisted on the creation of "zoopatrols" and for more effective actions in cases of cruelty to animals. The Coordination Center for Countering Violence Against Animals, with which he was associated, worked to improve the response of institutions to such reports.
