During the past 24 hours, 14 serious accidents were registered in the country, in which three people died and 14 were injured, the Ministry of Interior announced.
In Sofia, one serious and 14 minor accidents were registered, in which one person was injured.
Since the beginning of the year, there have been 212 road accidents, 22 fatalities, and 252 injuries. The Ministry of Interior notes that there is an increase in fatalities compared to the same period last year.
In one 24-hour period, 23 drivers who had consumed alcohol were detained, of whom 14 with 0.5 to 1.2 per mille, 9 over 1.2 per mille, and 7 refused a test. 12 drivers were detected under the influence of drugs, and 4 refused a test.
Within the operation, 11,987 vehicles and 13,749 drivers and passengers were checked. 3475 tickets and 369 acts for violations were issued.
