Alarming statistics: 199 dead in traffic accidents since the beginning of the year

The Ministry of Internal Affairs reports an increase in road fatalities in 2026. A total of 33 people were injured in 24 serious accidents across the country over the last 24 hours.

Bloody statistics on Bulgarian roads

Data from the Ministry of the Interior reveal a significant increase in accidents over the past 24 hours. A total of 24 serious accidents have been registered, in which 33 people were injured.

Since the beginning of the year, 2,752 accidents have been registered, in which 199 people have died and 3,425 have been injured.

Comparative analysis shows a staggering trend – in 2026, the number of road users who died is 29 more compared to the same period in 2025, when there were 170 victims.
