Current traffic status at border checkpoints
As of 06:00 today, the General Directorate of Border Police at the Ministry of Interior reports that traffic at all Bulgarian border control points is proceeding normally. Travelers can pass without difficulties along the main routes.
Important for drivers: Repair works are being carried out on the bridge structure at the Ruse-Giurgiu BCP, with traffic being regulated on-site.
Restrictions for transit through Greece
At the moment, the following specifics apply when crossing the border with Greece:
- Cars and vans (up to 3.5 tons): Can pass through the “Rudozem”, “Zlatograd”, “Makaza”, and “Ivaylovgrad” checkpoints.
- All types of vehicles (cars, buses, and trucks): Pass through the “Kulata”, “Ilinden”, and “Kapitan Petko Voyvoda” checkpoints.
Situation at the other borders
Traffic at the borders with Turkey, the Republic of North Macedonia, and Serbia is completely normal, and its intensity is within the usual range for the early hours of the day.
