The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH) published a detailed weekly weather forecast for Bulgaria from August 17 to 22, developed by the duty meteorologist Krasimir Stoev.

Sunday, August 17, will be mostly sunny with temperatures between 30 and 35 degrees. The wind will blow moderately from east-northeast. In the afternoon, a temporary increase in cloudiness is expected in the western regions, accompanied by episodic short-term thunderstorms.

At the beginning of the new week, the atmosphere will gradually relax. Western and Central Bulgaria will be affected by cumulus and cumulonimbus clouds. On Tuesday, August 19, this process will cover the eastern parts of the country, accompanied by local rainfall and thunderstorms.

The wind will temporarily change direction to northwest, which will cause a slight drop in temperatures. On Wednesday, August 20, sunny weather will prevail again with episodic afternoon thunderstorms in mountain areas.

The last two days of the forecast period will be extremely sunny and hot. The wind will be light to moderate, blowing from southeast. Maximum temperatures will reach between 31 and 36 degrees, which guarantees typically summer conditions.

Meteorologists recommend that citizens be prepared for rapid atmospheric changes and follow current meteorological bulletins.
