The Bulgarian basketball team TITAN 3X3 Zlatna Panega is preparing for a major international challenge in the Greek city of Piraeus. The sports delegation will participate in an extremely important qualification tournament from the Grand Series Quest series, which will be held between August 1 and 3, 2025.
The competition has strategic importance, as the winner will receive a direct invitation to the elite FIBA 3x3 World Tour in Macau, China. The team arrives with a changed lineup after its last participation in the Italian tournament in Rethymno, where it won a prestigious fifth place.
Among the main changes in the team are the inclusion of two new players – Ventsislav Petkov, an experienced guard with extensive international experience, and the young talent Damyan Minkov. From the squad, Hristo Bachkov, who has been called to the national team, and the injured Stanislav Tsonkov have dropped out.
The final lineup of TITAN 3X3 Zlatna Panega includes Chavdar Kostov, Damyan Stoyanov, Ventsislav Petkov, and Damyan Minkov. They will start their participation from the qualification phase, facing two Greek teams – Athens Fox and Blue Sharks.
The tournament will be held in front of the city theater in Piraeus with an extremely tight schedule. On the morning of August 2, group qualifications are planned, with the first match scheduled for 09:25, and the second for 10:40. The same evening, the main scheme with eight groups will start, and on August 3, the final elimination phase will take place.
In case of successful qualification, the Bulgarian team will enter the second group, where they will meet one of the strongest world teams – the Serbian LIMAN. Among the other top teams are VIENNA from Austria, Argos Bats from Spain, and Team Athens from Greece.
The President of the Bulgarian Basketball Federation, Georgi Glushkov, has wished the team success before the important international competition. The support of "Zlatna Panega Cement" additionally motivates the players to defend the prestige of Bulgarian streetball on the international stage.
The ultimate goal of TITAN 3X3 is not only participation but also proving the high level of Bulgarian basketball on a global scale. Every match will be extremely important for achieving the ambitious goal – qualifying for the world tournament in Macau.
