Serious accident near Karnobat: 19-year-old driver under the influence of drugs
A serious accident occurred around 1:15 AM near Karnobat. A 19-year-old youth driving a Volkswagen Golf crashed on the southwestern bypass of the Trakia motorway.
Due to the heavy impact, the metal guardrail penetrated the car's cabin, after which the vehicle overturned into the roadside ditch.
As a result of the accident, the driver's two passengers were injured:
- 16-year-old youth: Admitted to the intensive care unit of UMHAT - Burgas with life-threatening injuries after being ejected from the vehicle during the impact.
- 21-year-old man: Admitted for treatment with a fracture of his left leg.
The 19-year-old driver's alcohol breath test was negative, but the drug test showed the presence of amphetamine. The driver has been detained for up to 24 hours. Work on the case continues.
