A young Bulgarian swimmer achieved a remarkable success on the international stage by breaking her own national record during the World Swimming Championships in Singapore.

In the extremely competitive series of the 50-meter breaststroke discipline, Teia Nikolova demonstrated impressive concentration and skill. Her performance of 30.67 seconds not only secured her a place among the top 16 competitors but also improved the previous national record.

Nikolova's previous top achievement was 30.73 seconds, which she had registered in May this year in Burgas. The new result confirms her status as a leading Bulgarian swimmer in this discipline.

Although she did not achieve the best time in the series, Nikolova performed extremely strongly. For comparison, the winner in her series - Lithuanian Ruta Meilutyte - achieved a result of 29.82 seconds.

Qualifying for the semifinals is a significant success for the Bulgarian swimmer, which demonstrates her potential at the international level and promises future achievements in professional swimming.
