Within the framework of the ninth meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation, held on July 17, 2025, at Sofia Tech Park, a memorandum between Bulgaria and Armenia was officially sealed, focused on technological and innovative partnership.
The document provides for a large-scale mutual exchange of high-tech specialists, creation of joint research initiatives in the microprocessor and space industries, as well as targeted development of the entrepreneurial ecosystem between the two countries.
The Bulgarian side demonstrated strong positions in the sectors of information technology and artificial intelligence, while Armenia possesses significant experience in internationalizing innovative solutions.
Tsovinar Hambartsumyan, the diplomatic representative of Armenia in Bulgaria, emphasized the strategic importance of the agreement. According to her, the memorandum will generate new bilateral investment opportunities, facilitate knowledge transfer, and support the creation of joint technology enterprises.
Special emphasis was placed on the potential for developing green and digital technologies, with the current initiative being defined as a first-of-its-kind regional platform for technological cooperation.
