A military ceremony for the solemn raising of the Bulgarian naval flag on the newly acquired multi-functional modular patrol ship "Hrabri" will take place on December 8th in the area of the Naval Base - Varna, the press center of the Ministry of Defense announced. The ceremony will be attended by the Minister of Defense Atanas Zapryanov, the Chief of Defense Admiral Emil Eftimov, and the Deputy Minister of Defense Adelina Nikolova.
"Hrabri" is the first of the two multi-functional modular patrol ships, whose construction is being carried out within the framework of the project "Acquisition of a multi-functional modular patrol ship for the Navy".
The implementation of the project began in 2020 with the signing of a contract between the Ministry of Defense and the company FR. LURSSEN WERFT GMBH&Co.KG, subsequently renamed NVL B.V.&Co.KG. The construction of the first ship began on December 3, 2021, with an official ceremony in the area of the Ship Repair and Shipbuilding Plant "MTG-Dolphin".
The sea trials of the ship "Hrabri" were conducted in November 2025 in the area of the Varna Bay and the designated areas in the Black Sea.
