Sozopol Municipality invites you to celebrate together the Third of March – the National Holiday of the Republic of Bulgaria, the day on which we honor freedom and the memory of the heroes who gave their lives for the homeland.
The ceremonial celebration will begin at 10:00 a.m. on the square in front of the "Sts. Cyril and Methodius" temple, Sozopol, with a military ritual with the participation of a guard of honor from the Burgas Naval Base. A ceremony will be held to raise the national flag and a festive program with the participation of students from the "Sts. Cyril and Methodius" Secondary School.
At 10:30 a.m. the representative unit of the Burgas Naval Base will move to the Memorial Arch at the entrance of the Sea Garden, where a memorial prayer will be served in memory of those who died for the freedom of Bulgaria. A ritual will be held to lay wreaths and flowers as a sign of gratitude to the heroes.
The holiday will continue at 6:00 p.m. in the Cinema Hall of the "Father Paisiy-1896" Community Center with the theatrical performance "Under the Yoke" based on motifs from the novel by Ivan Vazov, presented by the "Stoyan Bachvarov" Drama Theater – Varna. Admission is free.
