A tanker is blocked at sea off the coast of Ahtopol. The Regional Administration in Burgas stated that there is no danger to the lives and health of residents, nor any data on environmental consequences in connection with the situation with the tanker. Continuous monitoring is carried out from the shore, as well as from the air. At the moment, the situation is completely under control.

The ten-member crew of the ship is safe, with all necessary protective equipment, and constant communication is ensured with them. According to initial information, the tanker is empty and does not transport oil. The right anchor has been dropped, and the crew is working on lowering the left one for additional stabilization of the vessel.

Due to the rough sea, experts are categorical that all active actions, including evacuation or additional operations, should be carried out in the light part of the day for maximum safety.

The Regional Crisis Headquarters for Disasters and Accidents is holding a meeting and coordinating the work of all competent institutions. A helicopter of the “Border Police” is already conducting an aerial survey of the area, and the examination is also supported by thermal cameras. All involved ministries are informed and ready to take the necessary measures if the situation changes.

Citizens are urged to remain calm. At the moment, there is no reason for alarm, and the institutions are monitoring the situation in real time.
