A high-ranking international snooker official - Maxim Cassis, arrived in Bulgaria for a two-day working visit related to the preparation for the upcoming World Championship in January.
During his official visit, the head of the World Snooker Federation (WSF) and president of the European Billiards and Snooker Association (EBSA) was officially invited by the local federation president Oleg Velinov.
During his visit, Cassis inspected the National Snooker Academy in Sofia, where he had the opportunity to observe the training process of young talents under the guidance of licensed coaches Viktor Iliev and Bratislav Krastev.
The expert was extremely impressed by the professional preparation and material base, offering special praise for the work with young athletes. The Academy is establishing itself as a significant center for snooker development, which for the second consecutive year hosts international qualifying tournaments.
On December 4th, the hall of Vasil Levski Stadium will again host the prestigious Q-Tour tournament - part of six international locations including Sweden, Austria, Albania, Belgium, and England.
The Bulgarian Snooker Federation emphasized that Cassis's visit creates real prospects for hosting the World Championship in January and confirms the long-standing partnership with European snooker structures.
Created in 2017, the World Snooker Federation functions as a key mechanism for professional integration of young amateur talents.
