Stoyan Mavrodiev handed over to Bulgaria: Extradition from Serbia is a fact

Former head of the Bulgarian Development Bank (BDB) Stoyan Mavrodiev has been handed over by Serbia to the Bulgarian authorities. He is expected to face charges regarding an unsecured loan of 150 million BGN.

The Extradition of Stoyan Mavrodiev

The former executive director of the Bulgarian Development Bank (BDB), Stoyan Mavrodiev, has been handed over to Bulgaria by the Serbian authorities. The handover procedure took place at the Kalotina border crossing, where identification was carried out via fingerprints.

Following an examination at a medical facility, Mavrodiev will be escorted directly to the National Investigation Service (NSlS).

Mavrodiev was detained in Belgrade at the beginning of June upon arriving on a flight from Dubai. The prosecution is expected to formally charge him for the granting of a large unsecured loan.

The "BDB" Case

Within 72 hours of his detention, the Sofia City Court will have to rule on the request for a permanent measure of detention.
