The capital city local administration is undertaking a large-scale procedure to review its banking services, forming a specialized expert team for a detailed selection of a financial partner.
On August 1, Mayor Vasil Terziev issued an official order to create a working group under the leadership of municipal councilor Boyko Dimitrov. Representatives from the Sofia Municipal Council and the "Finance and Healthcare" directorate are included in the working group.
The main mission of the formed expert team includes developing precise qualification criteria and evaluation indicators for potential banking institutions. The goal is to select the most suitable financial partner who will serve the central administration and secondary budget administrators.
The group will prepare a detailed list of banks that will be invited to present their financial offers. The deadline for completing the initial analysis is set for August 8.
This initiative followed the official notice from Municipal Bank to terminate the existing contract. Prior to this, the Sofia Municipality leadership had submitted a report to the Municipal Council regarding the termination of current relationships.
During a budget committee meeting, municipal councilor Blagovesta Kenarova from "We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria" raised a question about the need for a more in-depth analysis and methodology in choosing a new bank.
The capital city administration categorically assures that payments to contractors and employees will continue to be made according to the established schedule and procedure.
